The main bar area comprises of two delightfully decorated rooms, both with real open fires. One is a
designated non-smoking bar with a children's licence. The back door of the locals bar leads out into the skittle alley,
which also has a pool table and dart board. The pub is a big supporter of local micros and has a
list of constantly changing guest ales. Bar food is served in both bars
at both lunchtimes and evenings.
The beautiful restaurant is a feature in itself! A converted barn, complete with exposed beams
and brickwork and dried hops, plus wonderful a-la-carte food at very reasonable prices. Sample dishes include
haunch of venison on a bed of horseradish mash, boneless loin of lam with rosemary and garlic and chicken roulades
stuffed with thyme coriander and mozzarella. Vegetarians or special diets are also catered for. Fish is supplied
direct from Cornwall to ensure top quality dishes such as spiced skate wings with lime mayonnaise and steamed
swordfish with hoi-sin and damson sauce.
There are two double rooms and one twin which are priced by the room and include a
full english breakfast. Breakfast time is negotiable, the later the better!
The Worcester Way runs across the front of the pub. Sir Edward Elgar's birthplace and museum is
approximately five miles from the pub with Worcester City just over seven miles away
